ProSel Feature Of The Week: Bar Code Scanning

iPads can scan QR codes and UPCs, but no app can do it fast enough to keep up with the fast-paced demands of the retail environment.  If you need to scan UPCs as part of your order entry and sales force automation process, Ai2 has a great setup for you.

A Socket scanner pairs with your iPad using Bluetooth and integrates scanning and order entry into the ProSel application.  Part of our setup process is making sure your item numbers in your price book correlate to the UPCs on the products themselves.  That way, you scan either the product or a shelf tag if you’ve tagged your stores.  It also supports the scanning of a physical price book, but part of ProSel is getting rid of a large, bulky book of barcodes.

To hold the scanner, we built a custom case that has a shoulder strap and allows for one-handed operation.  It works for lefties or righties and protects your iPad while you work.

See how the scanning works here (YouTube video).
